VII Ukrainian-Bavarian Symposium


Medical and social rehabilitation of disabled children was the main topic of the Seventh International Ukrainian-Bavarian Symposium held in Dnipropetrothevsk between October 5, 2005 and October 8, 2005.



Traditionally the symposium was organized by the International Association of Pediatricians, Social Pediatricians, Social Pedagogues, Medical Psychologists, Speech Therapists Ukraine-Bavaria, Bavaria-Ukraine «Nucleus», jointly headed by Hubertus von Voss (Director of the Institute of Social Pediatrics and Adolescent’s Medicine of LMU and Director of Pediatric Rehabilitation Center in Munich), Vladimir Kozyavkin (Hero of Ukraine, Director General of the International Clinic for Rehabilitation and Lviv Rehabilitation Center “ELITA”, Honored Man of Science and Engineering of Ukraine), and Volodymyr Martyniuk (Director of the Ukrainian Medical Center of Rehabilitation of Children with Organic Disorders of Nervous System of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Chief Neurologist of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine).


Specialists from different regions of Ukraine, Germany, Sweden, Slovenia, Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan participated in the symposium.

The grand opening of the symposium was held on October 5 in the Palace of Students, situated on the picturesque banks of the Dnipro River in T.H. Shevchenko Park.

The Ministry of Health of Ukraine has opened the plenary session by its report on the subject of ‘organizational and methodical fundamentals of medical and social rehabilitation of disabled children, presented by R.O. Moiseenko, deputy director of the Department for Health and the Development of Public Medical Assistance. She has thoroughly analyzed the difficult demographic situation in Ukraine and suggested possible ways of the development of medical and social rehabilitation of disabled children.


The following speech of Vladimir Kozyavkin, Prof., the author of new technology for medical rehabilitation, was dedicated to the topical problems of medical rehabilitation in children’s neuralgia.

Hubertus von Voss (Munich, Germany), V.M. Studenikin (Moscow, Russia), H.H. Shanko (Minsk, Belarus), M.M. Lepesova (Almaty, Kazakhstan), Ye. T. Lilyin (Moscow, Russia), K. Lindgren, L. Lundkwist (Stockholm, Sweden), experts from different countries of the world, have also shared their experience in scientific and practical work on the plenary session.

»Social and pedagogic component of disabled children’s complex rehabilitation.
»Integrative psychotherapy of patients with sensory disorders.

»Medical and social rehabilitation of children with speech disorders.
»Medical constituent of the complex rehabilitation of disabled children.
»IPSEN satellite symposium.
»Epilepsy and epileptic syndrome.
»Complex sanatorium-and-spa rehabilitation of disabled children.
