Workshop in Oslo
30 Norwegian families and professionals visited Norlandia Hotel in Oslo on December 8, 2005, when Professor Volodymyr Kozyavkin arranged a workshop about his clinic in Ukraine, Truskavets.
The main goal with the meeting was to inform parents and professionals about the treatment method. Professor Kozyavkin and Doctor Volodymyr Padko gave a very informative and encouraging presentation, and their objective documentation on treatment results gave many parents both hope and wish to visit the clinic in Truskavets.
The Kozyavkin Method (Intensive Neurophysiological Rehabilitation System, INRS) – is a highly effective treatment for patients with Cerebral Palsy, low back pain and consequences of trauma and organic lesions of the nervous system. The treatment is mainly based on motor improvement, but also cognitive area as concentration and focusing will be improved as a side result form the treatment.
Another participant on this congress was Frank Hoover (Ph. D., is a molecular neurobiologist with over a decade of research experience focusing upon Central Nervous System development and disease), who was representing TIPO http://www.tipo-international.com. The TIPO organisation offers early intensive behavioural intervention for children with delayed development disorders, such as Autism, Asperger Syndrome, Down Syndrome and mental retardation.
It would be too difficult to transfer Frank Hoover’s interesting speech in this article, but his knowledge on the brain is enormous. Among his many interesting input, he gave the parents some very interesting aspects on important matters as: what kind of treatment is effective, what shall we look for, be critical towards.., and most important – he said "parents know their children best".
I found the combination of these to scientists : Kozyavkin and Frank Hoover to be a very interesting match, and if these two organisations will be able to make a cooperation in the future I would say "All the work with this congress was worth it..."
