Conference of the European Academy of Childhood Disability
26th Annual Meeting of European Academy of Childhood Disability was held on July 3-5, 2014 in Vienna.
The theme of the meeting was "The other side". The organizers tried to have a look at some topics that are usually not covered. One of them was neuropsychoanalysis. Some 20 years ago, psychoanalysis was thought to be at its end. Meanwhile modern neuroscience supports many of the theories of Sigmund Freud and other psychoanalysts. It could be shown that there are many more unconscious processes in our brain than conscious ones. These influence our daily life even more than we can imagine.
During the conference more than 500 participants from 49 countries had the opportunity to listen to 5 keynote lectures, participate in 24 parallel sessions, 14 training courses, participate in discussions during the 35 oral presentations and 120 posters presentations.
International Clinic of Rehabilitation at the conference introduced its first experience of using humanoid robots in the rehabilitation of motor disorders.
